About Country Codes
Country Codes shows a short reference of ISO country codes in the familiar two-letter form, one country per line. It is the table you want when a form asks for an alpha-2 code and you cannot remember whether the United Kingdom is UK or GB, or which code belongs to Switzerland.
The list holds twenty well-known countries in the format CODE - Name, opening with US - United States and closing with CH - Switzerland. Between them sit China, Japan, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Brazil, India, Italy, Spain, South Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Russia and Singapore - the countries that come up most often in addresses, locales and international forms.
It is deliberately a sample rather than the full standard. There are no three-letter codes, no numeric codes and no dialing codes, and the tool has no fields to fill in - it is a fixed reference that returns the same twenty lines every time. For anything outside that set you would need the complete ISO 3166 table elsewhere.
How to use Country Codes
- 1 Open the tool - there are no fields to fill in.
- 2 Read the list of twenty country codes in CODE - Name form.
- 3 Copy the code you need; the list is fixed and identical on every run.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the complete ISO 3166 list?
No. It is a hand-picked sample of twenty common countries. There is no lookup or search, so a country outside the list is simply not there - for the full standard you need the complete table elsewhere.
Which codes are included?
US, CN, JP, DE, FR, GB, CA, AU, BR, IN, IT, ES, KR, MX, NL, SE, NO, RU, SG and CH, each shown as CODE - Name with the two-letter code first.
Are there three-letter or numeric codes too?
No. Only the alpha-2 code and the English name are shown. There are no alpha-3 codes, no numeric codes, no dialing codes and no regions or currencies for any entry.
Can I search or filter the list?
No. It is static reference content with nothing to configure - no search, no sort and no way to copy a single row on its own. You copy the whole list and take the line you need.

How Country Codes behaves in detail
These are the specifics of this implementation — the exact ranges, defaults and fixed settings you are working with.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Input | nothing - the tool has no fields and is a browse-only reference |
| Output | twenty lines, each in the form CODE - Name with the two-letter code first |
| Coverage | US, CN, JP, DE, FR, GB, CA, AU, BR, IN, IT, ES, KR, MX, NL, SE, NO, RU, SG and CH, in that order |
| Format | the ISO alpha-2 country code, a space, a hyphen, a space, then the English name |
| First and last | the list opens with US - United States and closes with CH - Switzerland |
| Nature | the output is a fixed string, identical on every run with nothing to compute |

What Country Codes does not do
Knowing the edges of a tool saves more time than another list of its features. These are the cases where it will not do what you might expect.
- The list is a hand-picked sample of twenty countries, not the full ISO 3166 set. There is no lookup, no search and no pagination - if the country you need is not among the twenty, the tool cannot help.
- Only the alpha-2 code and the English name are shown. There are no three-letter codes, no numeric codes, no dialing codes, no currencies and no regions or continents for any entry.
- It is static reference content with nothing to configure. There is no option to sort, filter or copy a single row, and the fixed list cannot be extended from within the page.
