About itoolnet

All free tools that never send your data anywhere — because they never leave your device.

What itoolnet is

itoolnet is a collection of free online tools for working with text, code, images, colors, units, dates and numbers. They are grouped into categories, from JSON formatters and Base64 encoders to unit converters, hash generators and calculators.

Every tool is free, requires no account, and has no usage limits. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to install.

Everything runs on your device

This is the part that matters most, so it is worth being precise about what it means.

When you use a tool here, the work happens inside your own browser. Paste a document into the word counter, drop an image into the resizer, or type a string into the Base64 encoder, and the transformation is performed by JavaScript executing on your machine. Your text and your files are not sent to a server, because there is no server step involved.

That architecture has a practical consequence you can verify yourself: these tools keep working after you disconnect from the internet. Once a page has loaded, the processing does not depend on a network round trip.

It also means there is nothing for us to store. We do not have a database of your inputs, because your inputs never reach us.

No cookies, no accounts

This site sets no cookies. There are no advertising pixels and no fingerprinting scripts. We do count page views, but with a cookieless, aggregated metric — no identifier is written to your device and nothing is tied back to you across visits. We do not ask for your name or email address to use a tool, and we do not run accounts, so there is no profile being built about you.

The only data written to your device is a small preference record kept in your browser's local storage — your light or dark theme choice and your language choice. It never leaves your device and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

Why it is free

Running processing in the browser rather than on servers keeps the cost of operating this site close to the cost of serving static files. That is what makes it sustainable to offer every tool for free, without ads and without a paywall on features.

Who runs this site

itoolnet is maintained by the team that builds it. We do not publish individual author profiles, and we are not going to invent one — a name attached to a stock biography would tell you nothing you could check.

What we can commit to instead is the thing that actually matters for a tool: every documented behaviour on this site is checked against the code that runs it, and where a tool has limits, we say so on the page rather than letting you discover them by getting a wrong answer.

Tool pages that carry a "Tested and documented by itoolnet" line also list the exact parameter ranges, defaults and fixed settings that implementation uses, along with the cases it does not handle. Those two lists are the closest thing we have to a signature.

If you find a page whose description does not match what the tool actually does, that is a bug in the documentation and we want to hear about it: [email protected]

Accuracy and limitations

The tools here are built to be correct and we test them against known inputs, but they are general-purpose utilities. Results from the calculators — financial, health and statistical ones in particular — are provided for convenience and should not be treated as professional, medical or financial advice.

If you find a tool that returns a wrong result, please tell us. Bug reports are the most useful thing anyone can send.
